Local architects practice, coombes:everitt architects LLP, have been approved as an architect for the 2011 Architect in the House scheme.

Architect in the House is an innovative scheme run by Shelter, the housing and homelessness charity, and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). The scheme seeks to match homeowners with a local RIBA chartered architects, such as coombes:everitt architects, who provide an hour long design consultation. In exchange for these consultations, homeowners are encouraged to each make suggested donations of £40 to Shelter.

Last year, over 1,000 chartered architects took part in the scheme and raised over £115,000, of which more than £10,000 was secured from donations made in the South West region. coombes:everitt architects already sponsor Shelter with charitable donations and are encouraged by the popularity of this scheme and the positive impact this will have on fund raising for such a good cause.
