Replacement Dwelling

Wood Meadow, Cornwall

Our client had purchased a site in Helford, Cornwall, and asked us to visit the site and then develop a scheme for a dwelling that responded to its setting. The first thing you notice when visiting the site is the stunning view it has over the estuary. To make the most of the view an elevated outlook was desirable so the scheme was developed as an upside down house. The bedroom accommodation is built into the hillside and clad in local stone to help bed the scheme into the landscape whilst the living accommodation is set within a glazed pavilion which has stunning views in every direction.
