Every room with a view
Our client wanted a stand-out, modern family home that would complement the eclectic mix of surrounding properties on Cheltenham’s Battledown estate. Maximising the spectacular views was a must, but the family also required a private outdoor area to the rear of the property.
The existing property was a 1960s bungalow, poorly positioned on the site and making little use of the sweeping views. This limited the opportunities to develop and extend what was already there.
We decided to demolish the existing property and start from scratch, creating a new home positioned towards the front of the plot so that we could accommodate the requested private garden to the rear. The panoramic design of the house means that every room takes in far reaching views to the Malverns, across Cheltenham and all the way out to Cleeve Hill, with slot windows carefully positioned to highlight standout viewpoints.
A triple-height glass atrium achieves a high-end feel with added wow factor, while Cotswold stone and Ashcroft stone cladding to the lower section frames the balconies and adds definition to the building.
“We loved the way they repositioned our new home and made the best use of the site to achieve what we had asked for.”
