Conversion and refurbishment of 14 apartments and 2 commercial units in Cheltenham

Our client had purchased the site with a partially implemented consent for a food store a commercial unit and 14 two bedroom apartments.
We were commissioned to review the scheme and then prepare the working drawings for the project to enable it to be delivered under a Design and Build contract.
Whilst reviewing the approved scheme it became apparent there were a number of areas which required reworking to achieve the following; a greater level of building efficiency, an enhanced layout to the residential units, compliance with Building Regulations and compliance with the specific end users requirements for the retail unit
The scheme was constructed using a steel podium frame and then a timber frame superstructure for the residential units above. The scheme was completed on budget and on time in June 2012.
