Planning secured for new home in Devon

A contemporary new build project we’ve been working on in Devon has passed planning.

The striking family home will sit at the top of a hill overlooking Bampton, a small parish town between Exmoor National Park and Exeter.

Our clients are keen on outdoor living and wanted spaces that connected with the garden. We’ve designed the layout to wrap around the external areas, and sat the home on the site where it'll make the most of the sun and the views across the surrounding countryside.

The site moves across two levels, with the first-floor bedrooms bridging between the lower and upper parts of the house.

At the centre, a stunning curved staircase sits within a double-height space, forming part of the main kitchen, dining and living area.

The build will be constructed using Insulated Concrete Formwork (ICF) to achieve a well insulated, airtight structure. Heating will come from air source heat pumps, with PV panels and battery storage helping to support the overall energy performance.
