Our client had purchased the site with planning consent for three units. Working in conjunction with a local planning consultant the principal of redesign and an increase in dwellings was explored with the local authority which led to the approved scheme for 5 oak framed dwellings set within a mature woodland landscape.
The site was steeply sloping and heavily wooded and it was important that the dwellings fitted comfortably within this setting rather than dominating it.
The scheme was designed to provide contemporary living within an oak framed dwelling which was expressed both internally and externally.
