Contemporary home wins LABC regional award

A collaborative residential project we worked on with developer and contractor CBuild Ltd and director Tim McGrath, has just won the LABC West of England Award for Best Individual New Home!

Th brief from our client was to design a sustainable, striking family home that was suited to the landscape. Working with CBuild, we designed this 4,230 sq ft, five bedroomed contemporary home in Gloucestershire with the brief at the core of our design.

The exterior walls feature Cotswold Farmington stone, paired with Red Cedar hardwood cladding, creating a contemporary property that's firmly planted in local Cotswold tradition.

A SUSTAINABLE HOME FOR MODERN LIVING

The home, which has an A rated EPC, was constructed using a low carbon Insulated Concrete Formwork (ICF) system by R-Wall Ltd and boasts a range of sustainable technology, including:

• 21 solar panels with battery storage back up
• MVHR (Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery) combined with a high level of insulation
• triple glazing
• and an ASHP (Air Source Heat Pump), that feeds underfloor heating on the ground floor.

Having been a regional award-winner, the project now moves into the LABC Grand Finals held in January 2027. We're keeping our fingers crossed....
