Planning approval for residential extension project in Cleeve Hill

Planning has been approved for a residential extension project in the heart of the Cotswolds.

The scheme, in Cleeve Hill, includes a new link building connecting a previously converted barn with an existing annexe. The link will bring two parts of the property together, helping to create a more private and enclosed courtyard garden at the back of the home.

The design of the single-storey flat roofed extension focuses on how the building responds to the site from two different viewpoints.

From the courtyard, it has a more contemporary feel, with generous glazing, plenty of natural light and a clean, modern finish.

At the front of the house, the approach is deliberately much quieter, designed to sit comfortably alongside the original building rather than compete with it.

It's always interesting working on a project that balances contemporary design while also respecting the character of the existing buildings and the Cotswold setting.

WORKING ON A WIDER PROJECT

The recent approval also included a new swimming pool, poolside sauna and covered seating area, which we also designed for our clients.

We’re now working on the construction phase of a separate south-east extension, so this is a project we’ll continue to be closely involved with as it progresses.
