coombes:everitt announce membership of Passivhaus Trust
February 20, 2024
We are delighted to announce our membership of Passivhaus Trust. Passivhaus stands as the premier global standard and methodology for low-energy design, embracing a holistic approach to building construction. It sets precise, measurable targets, emphasising high-quality construction and undergoes rigorous certification through a meticulous quality assurance process.
At coombes:everitt architects, we’ve long championed the concept of sustainable development. With buildings contributing significantly to carbon emissions, accounting for approximately 35% of total emissions and the UK Government target to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, it is critical that the property sector diligently strive towards this goal.
We have extensive experience and expertise in eco-building practices and our proficiency spans passive building design, solar energy utilisation, ground/air source heating, the incorporation of low carbon materials, natural ventilation solutions, and optimising overall home efficiency.
Mike Court, Associate Director and RIBA Chartered Architect at coombes:everitt, has over 20 years’ experience and sustainable design and is a member of Passivhaus himself.
Mike comments:
“We are excited to become a member of PassivHaus Trust – our approach starts with sustainability and to deliver a well-executed design, which is conscientious and environmentally friendly, whilst ensuring our clients can fully enjoy their home and the surrounding landscape”.
